Turkmenistan explores Russia's phytosanitary expertise

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 29. A Turkmen delegation consisting of specialists from the competent authorities arrived in Russia from May 28 through May 31 to familiarize themselves with the system of quarantine phytosanitary control, grain quality control, and control of pesticide residues adopted in the Russian Federation, Trend reports.

According to the official source, representatives of Turkmenistan visit institutions and laboratories subordinate to the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) in Moscow, the Moscow region, and Stavropol, where grain and processed products are checked in accordance with international requirements.

Also, Turkmen specialists should visit the North Caucasus Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzo and the granary of one of the grain processing enterprises in the city of Zelenokumsk, Stavropol Territory.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is actively strengthening the phytosanitary control system, introducing modern technologies and methods to prevent the spread of pests and plant diseases, which contributes to improving the quality of agricultural products and ensures their safety both on the domestic market and during export.

As part of these efforts, the country's specialists visit various states to learn from best practices, cooperate with international organizations, conduct regular trainings, and improve the legislative framework, which allows them to quickly respond to phytosanitary threats and comply with international standards.
