Children's health center opened near Turkmen capital, 9 more coming soon

(turkmenistan.ru) - A children's health center was opened in the resort settlement of Gekdere near the Turkmen capital. It was built in a picturesque mountain gorge and occupies 4 hectares of land. It is capable of accommodating 325 children and 40 adults simultaneously. The design of an architecturally-original center gives maximum priority to preservation of natural environment and has organically fit the unique local landscape.

The facility totaling US $ 12 million was built by the famous Turkish company Polimeks on the order of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan. Apart from the living blocks, there are two tennis grounds and several sport grounds, a large swimming pool with the children's section and a slide. There are also an assembly hall, a library fitted with modern equipment and rooms for various groups of interest. A refectory can serve 350 people, reports Trend.

The new health center will be capable to accommodate schoolchildren not only in summer but also during autumn, winter and spring school vacations. Living rooms are designed for 4 people. No less comfortable facilities are provided for parents and grandparents who can live nearby and not only have a good rest but also improve their health. During the school year the health center will receive employees of banking sector and their families.

The new center is the first of the whole complex of modern children's health centers being built in the outskirts of Ashgabat according to the special resolution of the Turkmen President, Saparmurat Niyazov. Their construction nears completion. Next year, another 9 health centers will be opened in Archabil and Ruhabat districts. The cost of facilities with the capacity of 5 000 children altogether totals US $ 100 million.
