Bouygues of France to build People's Council Palace in Ashgabat

(Turkmenistan.ru) - The chairman of famous French company Bouygues, Martin Bouygues, has secured another major contract at a meeting with President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov held in the residence of the head of Turkmenistan.

Referring to the press service of the Turkmen president, the head of Turkmenistan issued a resolution authorizing the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan to sign a contract with the French company Bouygues Batiman International for the construction of the People's Council Palace in Ashgabat with a total area of 27 thousand square meters. According to the document, construction will start in one of the new avenues next January and be completed in three years. The project also provides for landscaping of the adjacent territory of 20 thousand square meters. The total cost of the contract is US $ 90 million, reports Trend.

As the State news agency (TDH) reports, during the meeting of Saparmurat Niyazov with Martin Bouygues the head of state highly estimated the work of the company as a long-standing partner in construction of major facilities in Ashgabat that form the unrepeatable architectural look of the capital of independent Turkmenistan. The Turkmen leader noted that thanks to French specialists the city is decorated by dozens of monumental buildings adding to the beauty of Ashgabat.

Discussing promising areas and prospects for cooperation, the President of Turkmenistan asked Bouygues to prepare proposals for construction of the carpet museum and the office complex for the state joint stock company TurkmenHaly (Turkmen Carpets) that are projected near the construction cite of the Military Academy named after Oguz Khan.
