A declaration on strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China is planned to be signed following Uzbek President Islam Karimov's forthcoming visit to Beijing.
Uzbek media have today published the official information about the Uzbek President's official visit to China scheduled for June 5-6 at the invitation of Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao.
It is planned to discuss the issues of intensifying the cooperation, important regional and international issues during the talks with the Chinese President.
Other bilateral documents aimed at further strengthening the Uzbek-Chinese cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment and other fields are planned to be signed within the visit.
President Karimov will attend the next summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, to be held in Beijing on June 6-7.
Uzbek-Chinese relations are regulated by a solid package of documents, including the Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation. As of 2011, the trade turnover between the countries in 2011 reached $2.6 billion, the amount of Chinese investments - more than $4 billion.
