Uzbek President Islam Karimov has made changes to the structure of Cabinet of Ministers and appointed a new deputy prime minister, the presidential office told Trend on Wednesday.

According to the decree, the complex on education, health, social protection, information systems and telecommunications, which previously was in charge of one deputy prime minister, is divided into two parts - a complex on education, health, social protection, and complex on information systems and telecommunications.

The complex on education, health, social protection is headed now by new 44-year old deputy prime minister, doctor of medical sciences Adham Ikramov. Prior to this appointment, he served as Minister of Health, the first deputy minister.

Abdullah Aripov, who previously oversaw the combined complex, remained as deputy Prime Minister and head of Information Systems and Telecommunications.

Thus, the structure of the Cabinet has now seven deputy prime ministers instead of six.
