UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights Ivan Šimonović arrived in Tashkent on Sunday within his tour to the Central Asian countries, a source in government circles told Trend.
As it was reported, last week Šimonović visited Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
The program of Šimonović's visit to Uzbekistan envisages holding meetings and talks with the heads of ministries and departments, the country's Foreign Ministry said.
Šimonović's visit to Uzbekistan will last until May 29.
