Uzbekistan, Tashkent, May 31 / Trend D. Azizov /

Uzbek President Islam Karimov ordered the establishment of a commission on the critical examination of the court system on civil cases and to improve the efficiency of their activity, a source in the government told Trend on Thursday.

The order was made in accordance with one of requirements of the earlier decisions of the president aimed at implementing a consistent long term programme of democratisation and liberalisation of the judicial system as the most important branch of state power, the interlocutor said.

The commission must analyse and give an objective assessment of the courts on civil cases, given their structure, formation, territorial location, number of members, the actual workload of judges, categories and features of proceedings within one month by late June.

A draft regulation will be prepared following the commission's work. It defines the typical structure of the court system on civil cases on the basis of the regulatory burden given the actual activity of judges.

The document will be adopted to create the conditions necessary for the effective protection of the rights and interests of citizens, as well as to introduce online public services in civil proceedings.
