Uzbekistan's Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on the establishment under the State Committee for Communication, Information and Telecommunication Technologies of a centre for development of e-government and a centre for Information Security.
According to the resolution, the main objectives and activities of the first centre are developing strategy for development of e-government, as well as those based on the analysis of global trends and experience of foreign countries, providing a unified technological approach in the formation of the system.
The centre will also monitor the evaluation of the status and effectiveness of the implementation and development of information and communication technologies within the system and make proposals to improve the regulatory framework for effective implementation of an e-government system.
The Centre for Information Security will include ensuring security of information systems and resources of state agencies, identifying and analysing threats, as well as developing solutions to improve the security of the 'e-government' system.
