Assets of Uzbek non-banking credit organizations total about 200B soums

Total assets of non-banking credit organizations of Uzbekistan amounted to about 200 billion soums, the balance of credit investments – 178.4 billion soums, total capital – 153.4 billion soums as of October 1, 2017.

Under a decree of Uzbekistan’s president on measures to further develop and improve the stability of the banking system of the country, dated September 12, 2017, it is established that starting from October 1, 2017, the minimum level of statutory fund of newly created micro-credit organizations should total two billion soums and pawnshops – 500 million soums.

Operating micro-credit organizations and pawnshops should bring the statutory funds up to the established minimum requirements until January 1, 2019.

Currently, 76 non-banking credit organizations operate in Uzbekistan’s regions, 30 of which are micro-credit organizations and 46 are pawnshops.
