Uzbekistan has defined the measures to enhance efficiency of cooperation with international and foreign financial institutions.

The document defines agencies and officials authorized to liaise with various international agencies on behalf of Uzbekistan.

The State Investment Committee of Uzbekistan has been authorized to launch centralized coordination (Executive Manager’s Office) with financial institutions.

Deputy Prime Minister Sukhrob Kholmuradov has been appointed Executive Manager on centralized liaison with the Asian Development Bank, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, the World Bank Group, the Islamic Development Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and other financial institutions.

Kholmuradov is in charge of investment, innovative development, coordination of operations of free economic zones, small industrial zones, and tourism.

The head of the State Investment Committee has been appointed Deputy to Sukhrob Kholmuradov.

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan is in charge of centralized liaison with the International Monetary Fund.

Djamshed Kuchkarov, deputy prime minister and finance minister, has been appointed Executive for centralized liaison with the International Monetary Fund. The head of the Central Bank was appointed his deputy.

The offices of executive managers will provide overall direction and coordination of operations with the mentioned agencies, and report to the Cabinet of Ministers on a quarterly basis.

Executives of respective ministries and agencies will appoint and dismiss heads of project groups upon approval by Executive Manager’s Office.

The document came into force on Dec 21, 2017.

As reported by norma.uz law portal, the former body of executive managers and their deputies was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers (No 229, dated 12.08.2009).
