Uzbek, German presidents meet in Berlin

Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on January 21 in the Bellevue Palace, Berlin, Trend reports via UzDaily.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Frank-Walter Steinmeier on the 70th anniversary of founding the Federal Republic of Germany, which will be celebrated this May.
Uzbekistan's President arrived on an official visit to Germany at the invitation from Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel on January 20.
In Berlin, Mirziyoyev met a group of Uzbek young people studying and engaged in scientific activity in Germany, the press service of the head of state said.
The President wished the youth to successfully complete their studies and research, and suggested that the knowledge and experience gained be directed to the development of Uzbekistan.
The official visit of the Uzbek leader to Germany will last until January 22. In addition to Steinmeier, Mirziyoyev will hold talks with Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and Bundestag Chairman Wolfgang Schäuble.
Further deepening of political dialogue, expanding trade, economic, investment and financial cooperation, implementation of joint programs and projects are on the agenda.
Mirziyoyev will also discuss the revitalization of cultural, humanitarian, scientific, educational and tourism exchanges and other relevant issues of international and regional policy.
