The largest volume of agricultural products exported from Uzbekistan in January 2021 in volume fell on Tashkent, amounting to 10,300 tons,Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in January 2021, 63,800 tons of fruits and vegetables were exported from Uzbekistan worth $40.8 million, which is $2.4 million more than in the same period last year.
The three leading exporters of fruit and vegetables in Uzbekistan also include Samarkand and Jizzakh regions, exporting products 8,000 and 7,100 tons, respectively.
At the same time, the volume of fruit and vegetable products exported in January 2021 form Syrdarya region amounted to 4,800, while Khorezm and Bukhara regions each exported 4,500 tons of agricultural products.
In addition, fruits and vegetables exports from Andijan region amounted to 3,900 tons, Namangan region - 3,800 tons, Tashkent and Fergana regions - 3,700 tons each, Surkhandarya region 3,500 tons, Kashkadarya region - 3,100 tons and Karakalpakstan Republic - 2,800 tons.
The least volume of agriculture products exported from Uzbekistan’s regions in January 2021 fell on Navoi region, amounting to only 158 tons.
According to the Committee, the main export markets for Uzbek fruits and vegetables in 2020 were Russia ($255.4 million), Kazakhstan ($251.4 million) and Kyrgyzstan ($181.1 million).
Furthermore, the largest volume of vegetables produced in Uzbekistan in 2020 accounts for the Samarkand region amounting to 1,636 tons.
The second place in the list of the regions with the largest volume of vegetable production is taken by the Andijan region with 1,611 tons of vegetables. It is followed by Fergana region - 1,128 tons, Tashkent - 1,067, Surkhandarya - 1,013 tons.
