Uzbekistan reveals data of foreign investment in mining industry

Foreign direct investment in mining enterprises of Uzbekistan amounted to 5.9 trillion soums ($557.2 million) for nine months of 2021, which is 13.6 percent of the total volume of foreign investments and loans, Trend reports via The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.

A significant part of foreign direct investment in fixed assets 58.6 percent falls on four investing countries: China - 22.3 percent, Russia - 21.5 percent, Turkey - 7.5 percent, and Germany - 7.3 percent.

According to foreign analysts, the mining industry in Uzbekistan has traditionally been attractive to foreign investors due to the already explored mineral resource base and the infrastructure created around it.

Currently, new investment opportunities for foreign companies, for the geological study of promising areas and the development of new territories, are appearing in the mining industry. It will make possible to increase the country's raw material base.
