Uzbekistan puts into operation first power unit of new power plant in Bukhara region

Uzbekistan put into operation the first power unit of gas piston thermal power plant with a capacity of 270 MW in the country’s Bukhara region, Trend reports referring to the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Energy.

The Turkish Aksa Enerji company took part in the implementation of the project for the construction of the power plant.

The project will save 260 million cubic meters of natural gas per year via energy-efficient equipment. The saved natural gas will generate an additional 900 million kilowatt-hours of electricity.

After the commissioning of the power plant, it will produce 2.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.

According to the ministry, in the next 2-3 days, the power plant will be connected to the main power grid of Uzbekistan and will start supplying electricity.
