German Volkswagen Group automotive manufacturer intends to expand scope of activities in Uzbekistan,Trend reports via the Uzbek media outlets.
During the visit of the representatives of company to Uzbekistan, issues of further expansion of cooperation in the production of Volkswagen and Škoda cars in Uzbekistan were discussed.
During the negotiations, representative of the company noted that the Volkswagen automobile concern and the German government are extremely interested in joint projects with Uzbekistan. This applies not only to the automotive industry, but also to the implementation of projects in Uzbekistan for the development of technologies, personnel training, and other important areas of the industry.
Previously in 2020, an agreement on cooperation was signed between Uzbek Uzavtosanoat JSC and the Russian Volkswagen Group Rus (part of Volkwagen Group) to organize the production of Volkswagen and Škoda cars on the basis of the Uzbek Jizzakh Automobile Plant LLC. At the moment, Volkswagen Caddy and Škoda Kodiaq cars are presented in Uzbekistan.
