Uzbek Central Bank records increase in volume of reserve assets

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb.21

The volume of official reserve assets of Uzbekistan as of February 1, 2022, reached $34.4 billion, which is an increase of 0.3 percent compared to the same period last year ($34.4 billion), Trend reports citing the Uzbek Central Bank.

The volume of other assets in foreign currency for the corresponding period reached $50.2 billion, which is a decrease by 2 times compared to the same period of 2021 ($109.7 million).

During this period, the gold reserves of Uzbekistan increased by 2.4 percent in comparison to the same period of 2021 ($20.2 billion), reaching $20.7 billion.

As of January 1, 2022, the volume of official reserve assets of Uzbekistan reached $35.1 billion. The volume of other assets in foreign currency for the corresponding period amounted to $243.7 billion, while the gold reserves amounted to $20.9 billion.
