BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. Saudi Arabia’s Jamjoom Pharma company plans to invest $52 million in the pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan, Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.

The company plans to use the country as a "gateway" to enter the markets of the Central Asian region.

The Saudi pharmaceutical company will organize production in the Uzbek market after receiving approval from regulatory authorities.

According to data announced in April, Uzbekistan annually consumes over 1,500 types of pharmaceutical products worth $1.6 billion. Most of this volume - almost $1.2 billion worth of products - is imported.
