Uzbekistan sees increase in volume of fruit and vegetable exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 24. Uzbekistan has shared data on its fruit and vegetables exports in 2022, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.

According to the source, Uzbekistan exported 1.7 million tons of fruit and vegetables worth $1.1 billion from January through December 2022.

Fruit and vegetables exports increased by 18.5 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year.

The largest share in the export fell on grapes (including dried) – 24.7 percent, followed by mung beans – 8.2 percent, peach – 6.0 percent, tomato – 5.1 percent, persimmon – 4.6 percent, onion – 3.7 percent, cabbage – 3.5 percent, melons – 3.3 percent.

During the reporting period, the share of fruit and vegetables in total exports amounted to 5.9 percent.

TOP-10 countries of origin for Uzbekistan's fruit and vegetables export in 2022 are Kazakhstan ( 641,200 tons),Russia (541,900 tons), Kyrgyzstan (155,600 tons),China (127,200 tons), Pakistan (65,300 tons ), Afghanistan (48,700 tons), Belarus (24,300 tons), Türkiye (19,000 tons), Iran (12,800 tons) and Azerbaijan (10,000 tons).
