BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 18. Uzbekistan and Chinese Huawei Digital Power have discussed possibilities of establishing cooperation in the energy field, Trend reports via Uzbek Energy Ministry.
The matter was discussed between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov and the company’s President of the Business Unit Sun Fu.
The sides touched upon the following issues to develop the Uzbek energy sector: the integration of digital technologies, expanding opportunities for entrepreneurs to produce energy.
The parties also talked about the implementation of joint projects on developing Uzbekistan’s green energy, developing electrification of large enterprises through solar energy, as well as accelerating the process of achieving carbon neutrality in Uzbekistan.
According to the ministry, the Uzbek delegation, headed by the Minister of Energy, was in China on February 16, visited Huawei headquarters in Chinese Shenzhen city and the Huawei Digital Power factory of inverters and batteries for solar power plants, get acknowledged with innovative solutions for the development of the energy sector, and studied the experience of China in the field of renewable energy.
In 2021 Huawei Digital Power helped customers to generate 482.9 billion kWh of green energy, by saving 14.2 billion kWh of electricity and reducing emissions up to 230 million tons.
Earlier in September 2022, Huawei in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Energy signed a memorandum of understanding on establishing long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation.
