Earlier in January, the leadership of Uzbekistan announced that the country's textile industry was included in the list of economic sectors expected to reach new levels in 2023. This year, Uzbekistan plans to allocate $300 million for the textile industry in 2023, a certain amount of which falls on the carpet industry.

Carpet production is an essential component of Uzbekistan's industrial sector. The country earns about $40 million a year from carpet exports. Uzbekistan exports carpets not only to neighboring countries but also to Europe.

Uzbekistan’s leading centers of carpet production are ancient cities such as Khiva, Bukhara, and Samarkand, however, new centers continue to open across the country.
