BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. The foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan amounted to $8.9 billion from January through February 2023, Trend reports via the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
This figure increased by 2 percent or $176.4 million, compared to the same period last year ($8.7 billion).
During the reporting period, exports of goods and services from Uzbekistan amounted to $3.1 billion; including $1.4 billion - in the export of goods and $561.9 million - in the export of services, while export of non-monetary gold amounted to $1.1 billion. In 2M2023, Uzbekistan’s exports decreased by 23.7 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 ($4.1 billion).
Uzbekistan in the corresponding period imported goods and services worth $5.7 billion – an increase of 25.1 percent, compared to the figure for the first two months of 2022 ($4.6 billion).
Furthermore, in January 2023, the trade turnover of Uzbekistan amounted to $5.04 billion, increasing by 42 percent, compared to the first month of 2022 ($3.5 billion). Export from Uzbekistan in January 2023 amounted to about $2.08 billion, while imports to Uzbekistan - were $2.9 billion.
