BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. Uzbekneftegaz JSC, state-owned holding company of Uzbekistan's oil and gas industry, is working on modernizing and upgrading the 110/6 kV "Shurtan-16" and 110/35/6 kV "Shurtan-8" substations located within the Shurtan Main Facility of the Shurtan Oil and Gas Production Management, Trend reports.
In an effort to enhance the stability and reliability of the power supply system in the oil and gas production and processing facilities, Uzbekneftegaz has developed a comprehensive plan of systematic measures.
As part of this project, the outdated equipment of the open switchgear systems at the 35 kV and 110 kV substations will be replaced, and a comprehensive refurbishment of power transformers will be carried out. Additionally, the construction of a central substation control center equipped with state-of-the-art protection and automation systems is also planned.
The implementation of this project will significantly improve the overall performance and reliability of the power supply system, ensuring uninterrupted and efficient operations in the oil and gas production and processing facilities. The modernization efforts undertaken by Uzbekneftegaz are part of the company's continuous commitment to enhancing infrastructure and ensuring a sustainable energy sector in Uzbekistan.
Meanwhile, as the company reported earlier, Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex (SGCC) is expected to start saving more electricity - up by 15 percent per year.
