BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. Uzbekistan and Czech Republic discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and organization of major joint events, Trend reports.

According to the official source of Uzbekistan, these issues were discussed between Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Oybek Khamraev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Uzbekistan Vaclav Yilek.

During the meeting, the sides noted the positive dynamics of economic cooperation, adding that in recent years there has been an increase in the volume of mutual trade and the number of joint ventures.

The diplomats expressed mutual readiness to stimulate the expansion of investment partnership and industrial cooperation.

In addition, they considered organizational and substantive issues of the upcoming 9th meeting of the Joint Uzbek-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation, which will be held in July in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) with the participation of Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Jozef Sikela.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual commitment to deepening trade, economic and investment cooperation and determined the format for further joint work within the framework of the implementation of the discussed projects and initiatives.
