TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 7. Industrial enterprises in Namangan region of Uzbekistan are planning to produce goods worth 20.1 trillion Uzbek som ($1.73 billion) in 2023, which is a growth of 7.7 percent compared to 18.1 trillion Uzbek som ($1.59 billion) in 2022, Trend reports.
Since the start of the year, a total of 388 projects were launched in the Namangan region, which are valued at $168.3 million. This resulted in the creation of 6,902 new working places. Presently, the region accommodates a total of 5,166 industrial enterprises.
Following an assessment of the situation in the industrial enterprises of the Namangan region, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a meeting with responsible deputy governors of cities and districts in the region.
During the meeting, tasks were outlined to improve support mechanisms for project initiators, manufacturers, and exporters, as well as to enhance the region's industrial and export potential.
Meanwhile, industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan have produced industrial goods worth 231.2 trillion som ($20.2 billion) from January through May 2023, which is an increase of 17.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
Additionally, the volume of industrial production has grown by 5.7 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2022. Tashkent city, Navoi region, Tashkent region, Andijan region, and Samarkand region have made the major contributions to the overall volume of industrial production.
