TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 21. China CAMC Engineering, a construction company that offers engineering, procurement and construction services, plans to invest $16 million in projects in Uzbekistan's Kashkadarya region, Trend reports.

The issue was discussed at the meeting between Governor of Kashkadarya region Murotjon Azimov and the representatives of CAMC Engineering.

The parties agreed to create the "Kainar" tourist-recreational zone in the Kitab district, which will accommodate up to 200,000 foreign tourists annually. It is expected that the Chinese company will develop the project's master plan.

The parties signed an agreement for the construction of a cable car in Kitab worth $15 million through direct investments.

CAMC Engineering has expressed its willingness to attract other Chinese companies for joint development of a special economic zone near the Karshi International Airport.

The transit potential of the Kashkadarya region has been highlighted due to the construction of the "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" railway, providing Chinese entrepreneurs with access to the Afghanistan market.
