TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 12. Volume of sales in Uzbekistan’s primary housing market increased in August 2023, compared to August 2022, Trend reports.
The analysis of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) has shown that in August 2023, real estate sales in Uzbek cities increased by 12.8 percent, the number of registered purchase and sale transactions amounted to 28,000, which is almost 3,000 more than July 2023 and 6 percent more than August 2022.
The largest growth was recorded in the regions of Namangan (33 percent), Surkhandarya (27 percent) and Samarkand (25 percent).
Activity in the housing market of Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent has been showing moderate growth over the past two months. Thus, the volume of sales in August 2023 increased by 10 percent and amounted to 7,500 apartments.
The growth in housing demand in the capital can be accounted for by an influx of students in August, which resulted in increased interest, leading to growth in activity in the housing purchase and rental market.
