TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 16. India, Uzbekistan plan creating a joint venture worth $5 million for the production of disposable sterile latex gloves in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
The news followed a meeting between representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Delhi with a number of leading Indian companies on the implementation of new joint projects. During the meeting with the head of Avantika Medex Pvt. Ltd. LalBabu Singh, Uzbekistan provided detailed information about the free economic zones (FEZ) of the country in the field of pharmaceuticals, as well as cultivation and processing of medicinal plants.
An exchange of views took place regarding the joint venture for production of disposable sterile latex gloves in the Zomin-Pharm FEZ in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region in cooperation with Indian entrepreneurs.
As a result of the meeting, preparations are underway for the start of construction of a new Avantika Shifokor plant in October 2023. Avantika Medex Pvt. Ltd. will invest $5 million for the development of this project.
Earlier this year, Uzbekistan and India concluded a package of more than 100 documents worth about $300 million to boost cooperation in the medical field. The signed package of documents allows both countries to expand medical cooperation, in particular, the digitalization of the field, the development of medical tourism, the implementation of joint programs in medical education and folk medicine, as well as the expansion of investment projects in this sector.
