TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 22. Uzbekistan plans to increase the export of IT services to the US market to $3 billion, Trend reports.
This was revealed at the TechCrunch Disrupt 2023 conference in San Francisco, where the director of Uzbekistan's IT Park, Abdulakhad Kuchkarov spoke at a panel session of the conference dedicated to the Silk Road in the Digital Age. He presented the potential of Uzbekistan as an IT hub and also spoke about new programs for foreign investors.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s plan to increase the volume of IT services exports to $3 billion amounts to 60 percent of the country’s previously stated goal for IT exports of $5 billion by 2030.
Uzbekistan’s ICT sector has been developing rapidly in the last few years. The value of ICT services provided in Uzbekistan from January through November 2022 was worth 13.1 billion soums ($1.1 million).
This figure increased by 21.9 percent compared to the January through November 2021 figure (10.8 billion soums, or $953,649).
