Uzbekistan unveils volume of foreign investment influx in 9M2023

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 23. The total amount of foreign investments and loans directed to fixed assets in Uzbekistan amounted to 104.4 trillion Uzbek soums ($8.55 billion) from January through September of 2023, Trend reports.

As per data provided by the Uzbekistan State Statistics Committee, the recorded number indicates a 20.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The committee analysts note that the accounted volume represents 46.1 percent of the overall investments in the country's economy.

Meanwhile, the volume of overall investments in fixed assets within Uzbekistan from January through September 2023 grew by 11.8 percent, reaching 226.6 trillion soums, which is approximately equivalent to $18.6 billion.

Earlier this month, Uzbekistan revealed its plans for attracting $32 billion in investments per industries, and regions in 2024.

Moreover, companies have invested a total of 139.1 trillion Uzbek soums ($11.4 billion) in Uzbekistan in the first six months of 2023.

A significant share of these investments, 59 trillion soums ($4.8 billion), or 42.4 percent, account for foreign investment and loans directed to fixed capital.
