Russia to assist Uzbekistan in constructing gas chemical complex in Bukhara

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 21. Uzbekistan plans to build a gas chemical complex with Russia's assistance in Bukhara region, Trend reports.

This was announced at a meeting between deputy prime ministers of Uzbekistan and Russia Jamshid Khodjaev and Denis Manturov. During the meeting, they discussed the implementation of large joint infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan.

In addition, the sides plan to create a metallurgical cluster on the basis of the Tebinbulak deposit in Karakalpakstan and a copper processing plant at the Almalyk mining and metallurgical plant.

Both sides also considered matters of cooperation in railway transport, infrastructure, energy, development of infrastructure projects - modernization of gas transport system and creation of various industrial complexes.

Furthermore, the parties plan to discuss the agenda of bilateral relations in more detail during the exhibition "Innoprom. Central Asia", which will be held in Tashkent on April 22-24.

At the end of the meeting, a number of bilateral agreements were signed in the presence of Denis Manturov and Jamshid Khodjaev, in particular, a roadmap for the development of cooperation between Russian Railways and Uzbekistan Railways.

Earlier, Russian ambassador to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov said that Uzbekistan and Russia are discussing the conclusion of a long-term contract with a gradual increase in gas supply volumes.

He also noted that the Uzbek-Russian intergovernmental commission has identified more than 80 projects that are currently in the process of implementation.
