Uzbekistan set to launch new investment projects in Jizzakh region

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 8. Foreign investors and local entrepreneurs plan to realize 50 projects worth $6.1 billion in Uzbekistan's Jizzakh region, Trend reports.

This was announced during Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to the Jizzakh region, where investment projects planned for implementation were presented.

The projects are planned to cover mining, machine building, electrical engineering, chemistry, the textile and food industries, agriculture, medicine, and pharmaceuticals.

Furthermore, the volume of industrial production amounted to 50 trillion soums ($3.9 billion), while exports amounted to $861 million.

A total of over $4 billion worth of investments have been attracted to Uzbekistan's Jizzakh region over the past five years.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan plans to implement new projects worth $500 million in its Basalt Uzbekistan cluster.

Within the framework of these projects, the country intends to manufacture 20 types of products with high added value.
