TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 27. Uzbekistan's Agency for Technical Regulation and the French Development Agency (AFD) discussed expanding cooperation and advancing promising projects, Trend reports.
During the meeting, the experts from AFD were provided with a detailed overview of key projects in the fields of product testing and metrology, along with an in-depth introduction to the operations of existing laboratories.
The delegation of the French Development Agency highly commended the infrastructure established at the Uzbek National Institute of Metrology for maintaining and utilizing national standards.
Additionally, the sides proposed to initiate joint projects for training qualified personnel. At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to further enhance cooperation and expedite the implementation of planned projects.
Meanwhile, AFD, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), and Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of understanding which introduces innovative tools and strategies for sustainable development in the country.
The SDSN is collaborating with the Uzbek Ministry of Finance and the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR), a government think tank focused on economic analysis. The memorandum is a significant step toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Uzbekistan. It centers on developing specialized tools for monitoring SDG progress, strengthening institutional capacities, and facilitating knowledge transfer.
