Iranian acting Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi rejects reports on his participation in upcoming nuclear talks in Istanbul, ISNA reported.

Salehi who also heads the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) dismissed reports that he would join negotiation between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany in Istanbul late January and said he is only engaged in the country's decisions on nuclear issue.

He added nuclear dialogues are merely pursued by Secretary of Supreme National Security Council [now performed by Iranian top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili.

Salehi meanwhile stressed that Iran's invitation for representatives of countries and international associations to its nuclear sites shows the country's goodwill.

"This is not the first time that Iran has taken such measure, some countries have already visited our nuclear sites," he told ISNA.

"We have invited ambassadors of the EU and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to tour our nuclear sites to prove that claims of malevolent and spiteful countries on Iran's nuclear work are fake."

The AEOI Chief also voiced hope the measure could thwart attempts of certain countries in spread of lie and fake reports on Iran's nuclear drive.

Meanwhile as to issues to be focused in upcoming talks in Istanbul, he said, "packages of proposals of Iran and the other side (P5+1) both dealing with economic, security and nuclear subjects are to be discussed."

Iran and representatives of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany last met in Geneva on December 6-7 with Iranian authorities have considered talks "positive" and "constructive."

The West accuses Iran of producing nuclear arms, Iran denies the allegation and says that its enrichment program only seeks peaceful purposes including power generation and medical needs.
