A relatively strong earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale hit Kerman and Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, in southeast Iran, Thursday morning.

A relatively strong earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale hit Kerman and Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, in southeast Iran, Thursday morning, IRNA reported. 
  
According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 10:32 hours local time (0702 GMT).

The report added that the epicenter of the quake was in the vicinity of Mohammadabad, located on the two provinces' border.

There is no immediate reports on any damage to property caused by the quake.

Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
