Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Sunday that the Islamic countries in the region should exercise vigilance to thwart the enemies plot to cause Shia-Sunni, Arab and non-Arab division in the ranks of the nations, IRNA reported.
Salehi made the remarks in a meeting with speaker of Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) Umar Shihab.
Umar Shihab, heading a religious delegation has arrived in Tehran upon invitation made by head of Tehran-based World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thoughts.
In the meeting, Umar Shihab called for developing unity among Islamic Ummah.
Relation between Iran and Indonesia are very friendly and brotherly and exchange of visits between the two countries Ulema would help deepen cooperation between the two nations, he said.
