Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani sent a message to his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Muhammad bin Mubarak al-Khalifi through Iran's Ambassador to Doha Abdullah Sohrabi.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani sent a message to his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Muhammad bin Mubarak al-Khalifi through Iran's Ambassador to Doha Abdullah Sohrabi, IRNA reported.

Qatari parliament speaker, in meeting with the ambassador, by referring to the stance of Qatar government in support of people peaceful demonstrations in different countries said that Doha, from the beginning of Tunisian people protest, declared its full support for people election.

Al-Khalifi, by referring to continuation of consultations between heads of Islamic and Arabic parliaments for holding an extraordinary session, said that holding such meetings show unity among Islamic countries and nations and we welcome the idea of such meetings, especially in direction of support for interests of Islamic world and on top of them the cause of Palestine.

He also praised good level of ties between governments of Qatar and Iran and special intention of Qatari emir to develop ties with Iran and underlined necessity of continuation of consultation in different levels, specially between the two parliaments.

Al-Khalifi also congratulated Larijani for his re-election as Majlis Speaker and expressed pleasure with this event.

Iran's Ambassador to Qatar Abdullah Sohrabi, by conveying warm greetings of Ali Larijani for his Qatari counterpart, explained Iran's principled stance in support and defence of people's peaceful moves in Arab countries.

He added that events and developments in a number of Arab countries such as Bahrain, is a domestic issue and people have legal and legitimate demands, which are presented in the framework of peaceful protests for change and improvement.

Sohrabi stressed that unfortunately inappropriate and violent confrontations against such peaceful protest, along with interference of other countries made it more complicated, while Iran believes such problems should be settled through dialogue and fulfilling legitimate demands of people.

Larijani mentioned in his message that all organizations and popular bodies, specially Islamic countries parliaments, should pay special attention to situation in Bahrain and by practical measures and transparent stance try to prevent damage to people rights and violent confrontation with them.
