Iran prepares 120 million EURO project for foreign investors

Iran is expecting to present a 120 million EURO worth economic project to foreign investors, at the upcoming International Conference on Investment opportunities, IRIB News quoted Head of the Iranian Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance Behruz Alishiri as saying on Tuesday.

The two-day conference will start on Wednesday and host 200 investors from 14 countries.

"We need to attract foreign investments to gain get additional 8% economic growth in Iran. Without foreign investors, we unfortunately cannot achieve that percentage," Alishiri noted.

He pointed out, that petrochemicals, steel industry and tourism are the areas that Iran is set to explore as far as foreign investments are concerned.

On Sunday, Alishiri announced that the Iranian government has approved a project to attract foreign investments worth $5 billion.

He further said during the last two years foreign investments attracted to Iran have increased by 120 percent despite international sanctions.
