Iran will become a space power in the near future, country's space agency chief Hamid Fazeli said in an interview to IRINN TV channel.
Fazeli also said that Iran plans to send a living organizm to space in a couple of months, and added that country also will send a human being to space by 2021.
"We plan to send a human being to space by 2021," Fazeli said. "Since President Ahmadinejad gave his word that the country will do it, Iran's Space Agency will do its best in this regard. We've already started work, and its moving ahead".
Iran's attempt to send a monkey into space in late summer of 2011 failed. Back then, Fazeli said Iranian scientists were working on a bio-capsule, and fixing technical problems revealed in a capsule.
