The national budget act as a comprehensive plan defines the roadmap for all of the domestic sectors. The current year's national budget faced serious criticisms util it was approved by the Majlis. The budget act's approach to allocate budget for the three branches of the government has been challenged.
The ISNA News Agency has reviewed the budget act and credits which have been approved to be allocated to the three branches.

Development budget of Majlis rises by 1523 percent

A look at the budget act shows that the development budget of the Majlis was 120 billion rials ($9.8 million) in 2005, but it rose to 1.68 trillion rials ($137 million) in 2011 and increased to 2 trillion rials ($163 million) in the current year, showing 1523 percent growth compared to 2005.

Administration's development budget's negative growth

The development budget of the administration totaled 390 billion rials ($31.8 million) in 2005, but it was reduced to 240 billion rials ($19.5 million) in 2011 and reached 290 billion rials ($23.6 million) in the current year. So, the budget has declined compared to 2005.

Expenditure credits of Majlis grow by 388 percent

The expenditure credits of the Majlis totaled 610 billion rials ($49.7 million) in 2005, but it was increased to 2.56 trillion rials ($208 million) in 2011 and reached 3 trillion rials ($244 million) in the
current year. So, the budget has increased by 388 percent compared to 2005.

Expenditure credits of Judiciary System increase by 392 percent

The expenditure credits of the Judiciary System totaled 4.34 trillion rials ($354 million) in 2005, but it was increased to 15 trillion rials ($1.22 billion) in 2011 and reached 21.3 trillion rials ($1.74
billion) in the current year. So, the budget has increased by 392 percent compared to 2005.

Expenditure credits of Administration's grow by 164 percent

The expenditure credits of the Administration totaled 910 billion rials ($74.2 million) in 2005, but it was increased to 2.09 trillion rials ($170 million) in 2011 and reached 2.4 trillion rials ($195
million) in the current year. So, the budget has increased by 164 percent compared to 2005.
