Iran will unveil the latest unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) during the ceremonies of the Sacred Defense week (which will start on September 22), Brigadier General, Amir Ali Hajizadeh Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force said, Fars news agency reported.

The UAV`s domestically made bombs and missiles, which have already been fully installed and tested, he added.

Hajizadeh went on to note that Iran is among the leading countries in this field and have needed facilities.

On May 10, Iran unveiled a new domestically manufactured stealth UAV, named Hamaseh.

The capability to fly at higher altitudes for a longer range distinguishes Hamaseh from other Iranian-made drones.

The then Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said that the UAV was capable of conducting surveillance, reconnaissance and combat missions simultaneously.

In recent years, Iran states that it has reached self-sufficiency in essential military hardware and defense systems.

Tehran established an arms development program during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s to counter the weapons embargo imposed on it by the US and its Western allies.

Since 1992, Iran has manufactured its own tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles, radars, boats, submarines and fighter planes.
