Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has introduced Nasrollah Sajjadi as a new nominee for the Minister of Sports and Youth to the Iranian Parliament, ISNA news agency reported today.

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani has introduced Nasrollah Sajjadi as a new nominee for the Minister of Sports and Youth to the Iranian Parliament, ISNA news agency reported today.

Sajjadi who is Rouhani's third nominee for the post, has already held the posts as head of Iran's football federation, secretary general of the National Olympic Committee and member of Olympic Council of Asia.

He is a professor at faculty of physical education and sport sciences of the Tehran University.
Earlier, the Iranian parliament rejected Reza Salehi Amiri's candidacy, nominated by President Rouhani for the post.

On August 15, the Iranian parliament rejected qualifications of three of Rouhani's ministerial nominees including Mohammad-Ali Najafi (minister of education), Jafar Nili Monfared (minister of science, research and technology) and Masoud Soltanifar (minister of youth affairs and sports).

Rouhani appointed Ali Asghar Fani, Reza Faraji Dana and Reza Salehi Amiri Acting Minister of Education, Minister of Science, Research and Technology and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports respectively.

The parliament approved Fani and Faraji Dana as ministers on October 27, while rejected Salehi Amiri's candidacy.
