By Fatih Karimov - Trend:

Iran allocated $7.5 billion to complete semi-finished industrial plans over the past five months, IRNA quoted industry ministry official Hossein Abouei Mehrizi as saying on January 29.

Of the sum, $1.8 billion has been allocated to the steel sector he said, adding that $2.8 billion was allocated to 172 plans across the country.

Last year, $17.7 billion worth of industrial goods were exported, he noted. Exports of industrial goods amounted to $8.1 billion in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21, 2013.

Iran has allocated 12.27 trillion rials (about $500 million) to its production sector in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year, the Mehr News Agency quoted deputy economic director of the Central Bank of Iran Akbar Komijani as saying on January 19.

Some 39 percent of the sum has been allocated to industrial and agricultural sectors, he added.

However, there is the usual concern over the issue that the allocated financial facilities will not be invested in the proper places, he noted.
