Iran has always been supporting Syrian people and government in fighting terrorism, Iran's deputy head of parliamentary friendship group said Tuesday, irna.ir reports.
'Iran has always been backing Syrian people and government in confronting terrorism, and will be supporting them in line with the establishment of peace and security in the region,' said Kamal Dehqani in a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Muhammad-Hussein Raqib al-Hussein.
Heading a parliamentary delegation, Raqib Al-Hussein is visiting Tehran to talk with senior Iranian officials.
The European nations and the US owe the Syrian army and its allies for their fight against terrorism, the Iranian lawmaker said.
He also emphasized the importance of reconstruction of vital infrastructure in Syria, adding that Iran would welcome cooperation of friendly countries in the project, as well as strengthening economic relations between private sectors of Iran and Syria.
The 15-member delegation, headed by Hussein Raqib al-Hussein, arrived in Tehran on Monday to meet some Iranian officials.
