Iran's non-oil exports decline

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 16.9 percent in value terms and 9.66 percent in weight terms in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 20, 2024) compared to the same month of last year, the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.

Iran exported 9.7 million tons of non-oil products worth $3.17 billion in the first month of the current Iranian year.

Meanwhile, $218 million worth of propane, $201 million worth of methanol, and $180 million worth of bitumen were exported in the first month.

The products were mainly exported to China, Iraq, the UAE, Türkiye, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Oman. A total of 83 percent of Iran's product exports in value terms and 78 percent in weight terms were exported to the mentioned 7 countries.

During the first month, Iran's trade turnover amounted to $10.4 billion. The trade turnover is 47 percent higher than in the same month last year.

To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, the country's non-oil exports in the last Iranian year amounted to more than 136 million tons worth $49.3 billion. Compared to the previous year, Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 8.87 percent in value terms and increased by 9.82 percent in weight terms.
