Iran increases non-oil exports from Sumar border market

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 13. The export of non-oil products from Sumar Customs of Kermanshah Province, located in western Iran, increased by 32 percent in value terms and 10 percent in weight terms in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 20, 2024) compared to the same month of last year, controller of customs of Iran's Kermanshah province, Ali Asghar Abbaszadeh said, Trend reports.

According to Abbaszadeh, 105,000 tons of non-oil products worth $53 million were exported through Sumar Customs in the first month.

Abbaszadeh added that fittings, marble, disposable tableware, rubber products, ceramics, chicken eggs, and many others were exported through Sumar customs.

The official noted that the goods were mainly exported to Iraq through Sumar Customs during the first month.

To note, a total of 491,000 tons of non-oil products worth $231 million were exported from the Iranian province of Kermanshah in the first month of the current Iranian year. Compared to the same month last year, the export of non-oil products increased by 17 percent in value terms and 6 percent in weight terms.

Meanwhile, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, in the first month of the current Iranian year, the country's exports of non-oil products amounted to 9.7 million tons worth $3.17 billion. In the first month, Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 16.9 percent in value terms and 9.66 percent in weight terms compared to the same month last year.
