Iran intends to boost exports to Indonesia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 22. It is expected that Iran's annual exports of products to Indonesia will increase significantly in value, the director general of the East Asia-Pacific Office of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Kaveh Daliri said, Trend reports.

According to him, a preferential trade agreement has been signed between Iran and Indonesia.

Daliri noted that Indonesia's annual imports average $270 billion. On the other hand, Iranian exports to Indonesia amount to about $1 billion a year.

The official stated that the agreement between the two countries includes various types of discounts on 230 types of products. These discounts will be 10 percent, 20 percent, 40 percent, and 100 percent.

To note, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, the country's exports of non-oil products in the last Iranian year amounted to more than 136 million tons worth $49.3 billion. Compared to the previous year, Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 8.87 percent in value terms and increased by 9.82 percent in weight terms.
