BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 5. During the two months of the current Iranian year (March 20–May 20, 2024), Iran's non-oil product exports to neighboring countries increased by 25 percent compared to the same period last year (March 21–May 21, 2023), Mohammad Rezvanifar, Iran's Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance and General Director of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.
According to him, within two months, the export of non-oil products from Iran to 15 neighboring countries amounted to $4.9 billion.
The deputy minister said that the largest increase in Iran's product exports to neighboring countries in two months was recorded in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman, while Iran's product imports from neighboring countries amounted to $4.3 billion in two months.
Rezvanifar added that if we pay attention to the two month trade turnover of Iran with neighboring countries, it is understood that Iran has a positive balance of $600 million.
According to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, during the two months of the current Iranian year (March 20–May 20, 2024), the export of non-oil products of Iran amounted to 23.5 million tons worth $8 billion.
Within two months, Iran's non-oil product exports increased by 3.8 percent in terms of value and 8.5 percent in terms of weight compared to the same period last year (March 21–May 21, 2023).
Iran received 5.84 million tons of goods, valued at around $9.08 billion, within a span of two months. Compared to the same period last year, Iran's imports of non-oil products climbed by 9.19 percent in value and 13.3 percent in weight.
