(RIA Novosti) - A May 19 meeting of the three European nations leading negotiations over Iran's controversial nuclear program has postponed for up to 10 days, a source in Britain's Foreign Office said Wednesday.

The source said the meeting was likely to focus on proposals advanced by Britain, France and Germany to Iran, but was postponed to give the EU3 time to complete a package of proposals, reports Trend.

On Tuesday the EU3 negotiators - Britain, France and Germany - together with EU foreign policy supremo Javier Solana offered Iran a European light-water nuclear reactor in exchange for a promise to stop its uranium enrichment program.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Wednesday his country would not accept the proposal, and that it would carry on with uranium enrichment for civilian purposes.
