(IRNA) - Visiting head of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK - North Korea) Che Tai Buk met and conferred with IRI Foreign Affair Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here Wednesday.
Che Tai Buk who has come to Iran to take part at Asian Parliament Speakers Conference met the Iranian foreign policy chief hours before departing Tehran, reports Trend.
Mottaki during the meeting referred to the two countries' membership at the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and praised the two nations' independence seeking tendencies.
He added, "We consider Korea's advancement and development as our own country's, and just as always, favor the further strengthening and expanding of bilateral ties."
The Iranian top diplomat referring to the latest developments in regional and global developments, said, "The United States has now lost its grandeur at the international scene and the era for threats, unilateralism, and resorting to force in order to gain illegitimate interests has faded out."
He referred to the high potentials in Asia, including the residing of over half of the world's population in the old continent, owning a huge part of the sources of fossil energies of the world, and the emergence of new potentials, such as the new economic giants in this continent.
Mottaki added, "For all those good reasons, Tehran Conference set the foundation of the emergence of a new identity for Asia, calling the Asian nations to unite and get ready for a joint regional movement towards the future."
The top Korean official, too, said during the meeting that the DPRK has always attached great significance to the broadening of ties and upgrading the level of cooperation with Iran.
He pointed out that Pyongyang and Tehran have many shared stands on international developments, which is one of the reasons for their political closeness to one another.
Che Tai Buk added, "In the future, too, we will spare no efforts in that regard."
