(IRNA) - European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana reiterated Monday that the door for talks with Iran on the nuclear issue remains open if conditions are met.

This means, he added, that the parties can look at the issue again.

"I have maintained the doors are open for engagement. The door remains open," said Solana in reply to IRNA's and IRIB's question on the status of nuclear talks, reports Trend.

He added that he had told Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani that "we are ready to continue negotiations if the conditions are accepted."

"But nothing, nothing of great importance has taken place," regretted Solana, noting that the six-party talks on Iran's nuclear program will resume on Tuesday will look again at the issue.
